Re: Important Links
I'd like to add a few things people might appreciate here.
Easily switch between audio devices:
AudioSwitcher is a program that allows you to quickly switch between audio devices (speakers <-> headphones) with the press of a button. It uses global hotkeys so it works well with autohotkeys. If your setup uses a headphone jack or you would like to install one some day, this program will be a must have.

Control TV with IR LED:
Using some very basic parts and similar wiring to your arcade control panel, you can control any device containing an IR receiver with the push of a button. I will list the parts necessary and a wiring diagram to show how this works. The way this works is you install the necessary software, use an IR receiver to collect all your codes to control the tv directly from the original tv remote, and lastly program the codes you need onto the buttons you installed. This requires you to use a separate board from the one connected to your arcade controls. Meaning the tv buttons will have to be "dedicated" tv buttons. This is typically helpful for people using a tv which does not automatically turn on and off with the system like a regular monitor would, or to control the tv volume directly rather than changing system volume.
-Arduino IDE software -the software to gather the codes and program the buttons
-Receiver Code - the code you need to load onto the program in order to collect the tv remote codes.
-Transmitter Code - the code you need to load in order to now send the tv codes out.
-Arduino board - this is the board you will be using.
-LED's and Receivers - pretty self explanatory
-Resistors - here is an assortment of different resistors but you will need to use specifically the 220ohm limiter for the IR LED.
-Buttons - these are the buttons I have chosen to use. Just standard arcade buttons.
-Tutorial - use this to help you with the software side of things. They do a good job explaining how to receive and send the codes.
- Wiring diagram for the IR receiver. I am told this can be used with an IR remote to control media apps like Plex and Kodi. Essentially you can use your tv remote itself after programing the necessary buttons. I will give this a shot one day.
- Wiring diagram for IR LED/transmitter. In my case, I will be installing this on the rear side of my arcade pedestal which always faces the tv.
